-no longer in shadows-

The old cargo ship creaked and groaned as it carved its way through the sea's rough waves. The warned down, white sails fluttered softly as it caught the northern breeze. The moonlight decorating the wooden deck as a young woman watched the calm sea. The lower half of her face was concealed behind a white scarf, and the rest was carefully hidden under the hood of her red robes. For countless years she had been alone, taking odd, poor paying jobs in order to keep moving forward. It was the only thing she knew... that you knew. Your mother had been died from an illness some time after your birth and it was up to your father to raise you herself, by teaching you how to assassinate your enemies from the mere age of four and since then, time hadn't mattered. Especially after your father and closest friend had died some time ago, by an assassins blade. You hadn't spoken a word to anyone since then aside from booking passage or renting a room for a night. A small silver ring was sitting in the palm of your hand, the last gift from your father rested in the centre of your palm and slowly slid to the left, until it fell into the great ocean depths.

Shaking your head you tried to compose yourself as a small patter of feet approached you, subconsciously your right hand now rested on your iron blade handle while the left occupied one of your hidden blades.
"Traveling alone missy?" The captains voice called out as the white bearded man approached you, clearly miss reading your 'stay away or else' vibe. Barely moving from against the railing you manage a small nod. "Ahhh, long treks across the vast, open ocean. Ain't nothin' like it!" He chuckled loudly, leaning his back against the railing next to you. You shuffled away from the old man slightly in response to his outburst and to hopefully avoid his ghastly stench. Which in turn received a light hearted chuckle.  "Not much for talking are ya lass?"
A slight shake of your head as you kept your eyes on the horizon,
"Just thought i'd tell ya that we'll be making port at Havada around midday, that's as far as i will take yer." A small sigh left the captains mouth as he stretched tiredly before heading into his own quarters for the remainder of the night, leaving you alone aside from the crewman steering the ship with ease.

-the next day-

Entering the all to familiar city of Havada, the streets were overcrowded with merchants trying to buy or sell their stock to the newly docked ships. You carefully swayed through the crowd with ease, not bothering to interact with strangers you slowly slipped away from the crowd and into the slightly more open streets. Having no real objective for the day as most had already past you wandered through the streets, however that changed as two figures moved around in the corner of your eye. Both cloaked males and both seemed intent on following you, while heavily armed. Spotting a nearby tavern, you enter swiftly and calmly make your way to the bar. "What'll it be miss?" An elderly woman asked as she cleaned a mug.
"Ale." You wheezed, while rubbing your sore throat. Not using your voice often had begun to take its toll. However it was the least of your concern as one of the two stalkers had entered the bar and had taken a table close to the only exit aside from the rooftops.
"Here you are missy, one mug of ale." The bar women stated while placing the mug close to your right hand. A small thanks left your mouth as you handed her several coins before taking a sip of the tangy beverage. Slowly enjoy the drink you knew may be your last because lets face the facts here, one if the heavily armed men was nowhere in view so that either meant he was either somewhere close by or he had gone for re-enforcements, the other was clearly here to keep am eye on you until one of the two options occurred. Getting out of here by climbing up to the rooftop was no longer a stealthy option as there was nothing to use as a distraction nearby meaning you had to wait until they made their move.
"Can i get you another miss?"
"No thank you." You say turning slightly seeing a shadow move across the ground as a large number of new people entered the pub, all were heavily armed guards and the last was a small scrawny man with brown eyes and jet black hair brushed back giving him an almost rat like appearance. The man seamed very skittish as he clambered onto the seat next to you.
"Miss (l/n) I presume." He whispered moving closer to you.
"My answer depends on who's asking." You snarl shifting uncomfortably in your seat, your attention was more focused on the cloaked figures joining up with the first, along with several more shadows dancing on the ground below you.
"My name is Mr John Rittaly and i am here to inquire about your fathers research for my master." He stated proudly as if this was one of the more predictive tasks his 'master' had given him.
"That is where I can't help you, I presume it was taken on the same day my friend was murdered." You growl slightly touching the tip of your swords handle.
"Did you see th-"
"Listen carefully rat, you better start scurrying back to the sewers before i send you there myself." You turned your head just enough to glare at him through the corner if your eye as you stood up from your seat and turned to leave.
"Guards!" Rittaly screeched and his buffoons followed his orders, blocking your exit. "Forgive me miss (l/n) but, you are far to valuable for our cause to be wandering around freely." He chuckled darkly and stepped forward, into the light.
"You are not the only one who has followed me today." You smile and slowly point towards the roof as several metal pellets fell down.

"ASSASSINS!"

Hell broke lose after that one word left Rittaly's mouth, the innocent bystanders quickly fled the scene as did you as you pulled your hood over your head and blended into the crowd. It had seemed for the moment that both opposing forces were too busy killing each other to immediately notice your sudden disappearance, you had taken refuge at the docks... well below the sea docks, resting on the wooden beams that only skimmed the water as the waves brushed against it. Your little hiding spot was hidden well enough that no one would bother you too much, until someone emerged from the water across from you. A small smile made its way to your face as you greeted the familiar assassin. "Captain Kenway, been a while."
"Aye lass, it has. Tell me... just what are these little scurries i keep hearing about?" He asked as he folded his upper arms onto of the nearby beam and rested his head down on top, his golden eyes held a slight mischievous glint as he tilted his head slightly.
"I wouldn't know, care to enlighten me?"
"Don't keep playing these games lass, you keep stirring up the Templar. I can't be there all the time." He stated bluntly before sighing deeply.
"What am I going to do?" You mutter while looking out towards the open ocean. Edward must've heard your little whisper as he quickly climbed out of the water.
"Come with me!" He called from above you, with a dramatic sigh you bang the back of your head against the wooden pole behind you and groaned. "Come on lass, I don't have all day!"
You groaned again.
"Have it your way." He chuckled and before you could react, you'd been dragged away from your hiding place and thrown over Edwards shoulder.... wait... What!?
"Put me down!" You yelled while hitting his back with your fists but the stubborn mule continued to walk along the docks until he reached what you could only assume was his ship, where he waltzed onto the deck and gracefully threw you onto the ben of the captains quarters.
"Here have some time to yer self. Oh and all the windows don't open so... ENJOY!" He chuckled while slamming the doors shut and locking them from the outside.

Many very painful events followed that day for Captain Kenway and any other man that decided to try and piss of the only female crew member and oh boy did they cop it when one of the 'new members' tried to smack your ass. Now one long game had ended...

and a new one had just begun...
